Hello!

Callie Parrott Bower is a contemporary artist, living in Kansas City, Missouri. She has an M.F.A. in Painting from the University of Kansas and a B.F.A. in Visual Studies from Iowa State University with additional studies at Drake University.

She is a former Creative Product Designer and Lettering Artist with Hallmark Cards. While she was employed with Hallmark, she created two fonts, the Callie font and Parrot font.

Callie has taught art classes at the University of Kansas, Park University, and currently teaches at Metropolitan Community College on the Maple Woods Campus.

In the fall 2023, she, along with 24 other regional creatives, was accepted into Artist INC, a fellowship through Mid-America Arts Alliance in partnership with the Charlotte Street Foundation, “to develop their entrepreneurial skills and strengthen their artistic practice.”

When Callie is not creating art in her home studio, she enjoys reading books, going on walks, and spending time with her family.
